Manchester United have launched a new retro clothing range in honour of “arguably the club’s greatest-ever player” George Best.
The 37-capped Northern Ireland international played for the Red Devils between 1963 and 1974, winning the Football League First Division twice and the 1968 European Cup.
East Belfast-born Best, who died in 2005, scored in extra-time during the Premier League club’s 4-1 win over Benfica at Wembley Stadium.
Wearing United’s away strip of royal blue with the club’s iconic number seven shirt, the image of Best wheeling away with his arm raised after scoring the goal is one of the Red Devils’ most treasured memories.
The new royal blue collaborative clothing range between United and adidas includes the Manchester City Council crest, the number seven and Best’s signature above the cuffs.
This latest offering for Manchester United fans was modelled by current players Marcus Rashford, Casemiro and Mason Mount.
Priced at £90, fans can buy a tracksuit top or a long sleeve jersey, while the tracksuit bottoms are priced at £65.
The white and blue adidas Original Gazelle trainers included in the range cost £100.

“Inspired by the 1968 European Cup final shirt, where Best scored a crucial goal, with its bold, blue colour and accurate vintage details like the Manchester City Council crest.
“Find tracksuits, jerseys, and trainers in this collection that add retro style to your outfits, finished with Best’s number seven on each piece and his signature above the cuffs so you can show you respect to this legendary player.”
As part of the launch, an article on Manchester United website said: “Today, adidas and Manchester United launch a new collaborative clothing range, celebrating arguably the club’s greatest-ever player: George Best.
“That we are still talking about George almost 20 years after his tragically early death, and 56 years on from the zenith of his football career – the 1968 European Cup final victory over Benfica – seems astonishing, in one sense.
“But when you speak to those whose eyes were dazzled by the Northern Irishman operating at the peak of his powers – as in the 1967/68 season that inspired this clothing range – you understand: the kind of magic created by such artistry, such personality, such genius… well, it simply does not fade in the same way as many of life’s other memories.”
