Nearly three years after a double murder in south Etobicoke that landed him on the country’s most-wanted list, police believe the accused killer is now in the GTA.

Phillip Grant, now 34, of Peel Region, is sought for second-degree murder in the Jan. 3, 2022 shooting at a business plaza at 150 Thirtieth St., near Browns Line and Lakeshore Blvd. W. Two Mississauga men — Minyali Wur, 24, and Chudier Reat, 20 — were killed and a woman was left with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Thursday, police issued a release saying, “Investigators have received information that Mr. Grant is in the Greater Toronto Area.”

They advise anyone who sees him to call 911. Those with information on Grant can contact homicide detectives at 416-808-7400 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).

Police also warn that “anyone offering him assistance in evading arrest may be considered an accessory after the fact and face charges.”

Grant was named as a suspect in August 2022, but by then he was in the wind. He was added to the BOLO most-wanted list in 2023.

A few weeks after the shootings, police said Darriel Thompson, 21, of Mississauga, was wanted for two counts of second-degree murder and one count of attempted murder. Camarr Brown, 21, of Brampton, was also accused of being an accessory after the fact.

On July 29 of this year, Grant allegedly reemerged in Windsor.

Police in that city said that cops were called to Erie St. E. just before 6 a.m. for a brawl during which Grant allegedly fired a single gunshot and fled before officers arrived. No injuries were reported.

As the Toronto Sun previously reported, Grant was arrested in 2019 on a slew of drug- and firearms-related charges. Cops allegedly found a gun and cocaine worth $46,000 in the search. He was also accused of assaulting a cop.

Grant was charged with assaulting police, careless storage of a firearm and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. The outcome of those charges is not known.
