Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have executed a professional separation after their projects as a couple have failed, according to a source.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as working members of the Royal Family in 2020 and moved to the US to pursue a career as a power couple.

However, it has not worked out that way for Sussexes, with setbacks including being dropped by Spotify and a backlash from many on their consistent public attacks on the Royal Family.

Over the last 12 months, the couple has changed tactics and gradually separated their projects with Prince Harry undertaking many solo public engagements.

The Sussexes are also working on separate projects for Netflix despite signing a lucrative deal as a couple after leaving the Royal Family.

Their debut series Harry & Meghan was a huge hit on the streaming platform and broke several Netflix records.

However, it has been over a year and a half since its release in December 2022 and the couple have not produced another joint project for Netflix.

Harry did release Heart of the Invictus in 2023 but it failed to reach the same level of success as their debut docuseries.

A source told the Mail: “They will still carry out some charitable engagements together and embark on foreign visits, but their work projects will be separate.”

The couple have toured both Nigeria and Colombia together in 2024.

Prince Harry is currently undertaking a series of solo engagements in New York this week.

Meghan Markle has stayed in California with their two young children Archie, five, and Lilibet, three.

On Tuesday, Prince Harry shared that his phone lock screen is of Archie and Lilibet as he delivered an emotional message on the importance of protecting children from the online world during an engagement in New York.

During his speech, Prince Harry pulled out his phone and glanced at the lock screen of his kids.

The screen behind him then displayed phone lock screen pictures of children who had died after taking their own life.

The Duke of Sussex continued: “These children and thousands more, meant the world to their families. The beautiful faces you see before you, their smiles, their dreams, all lost, all too soon and all because of social media.

“It is why we launched the Parents Network, a global community that provides crucial support to parents whose children have suffered from the harmful effects of social media.”
