Lee Johnston will compete in his last race for the Ashcourt Racing team at the final round of the British Supersport Championship at Brands Hatch next month.
The English team has confirmed its decision to withdraw from competitive motorcycle racing after joining forces with Fermanagh’s Johnston in 2019, winning at British championship level and securing victories and podiums at major road races including the North West 200, Isle of Man TT, Ulster Grand Prix and Oliver’s Mount in Scarborough.
Halifax-based Johnston, who was seriously injured at the North West 200 last year, made his racing comeback at Brands Hatch in July after breaking his leg at the beginning of the season in a testing crash in Spain.
He returned to the Mountain Course at the Manx Grand Prix in August for the first time since 2022, sealing a runner-up finish in the Lightweight race on the Reed Racing 250 Honda.
“Racing with Ashcourt has been a remarkable journey,” said Johnston. “The team has stood by me through thick and thin.
“In terms of my future, I’m still competitive in the British Championship and on the roads.
“My options are wide open at the minute and I’ll update everyone as soon as my plans for 2025 have been confirmed.”
