Thousands of Santander users have found themselves unable to access their money on Monday morning. The bank’s app has crashed, blocking access to online mobile banking.

Some users have also reported being unable to log in online. One user wrote on X: “Cheers Santander, I can’t access online banking or pay for anything with my card because it’s app is down, I’m hoping the cash point is working otherwise I ain’t getting to work anytime soon.”

A Santander spokesperson said: “We’re very sorry for the inconvenience this is causing, and we are working hard to fix the problem as soon as possible.”

Santander said the fault had hit the app online and that customers should be able to use online banking and telephone banking as well as ATMs.
