Two men have been hospitalised following a stabbing incident at a bar in west Belfast.

The men sustained small stab wounds during the incident that happened shortly after 9pm close to the main Falls Road.

Armed response officers with shields and guns drawn gained entry to an apartment located on the nearby North Howard Street shortly after 9:30pm in an attempt to find a suspect.

After using a battering ram to gain access to an apartment, they left without making an arrest.

A police spokesperson said: “Police in west Belfast received a report of a stabbing in the Northumberland Street area just after 9.05pm this evening, Sunday, 22nd September.”
