Cristiano Ronaldo has hilariously imitated Lionel Messi while talking to girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez on his new YouTube channel.

The forward launched the channel last month and immediately set a new world record for the most subscribers in the first 24 hours.

Ronaldo and Messi are long-time rivals, even if there’s a respectful relationship between the pair.

They often came face to face during their time at LaLiga when they were strutting their stuff for Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.

At the 2022 World Cup, Messi was involved in a spat with Wout Weghorst after Argentina controversially beat the Netherlands.

Tempers flared as Messi’s side won the clash on penalties after the ball was earlier kicked towards the Netherlands bench by midfielder Lenadro Parades.

After the game, when Messi saw Weghorst, he used the phrase ‘Que Miras bobo’.

That translates to ‘what are you looking at, fool?’.

And Ronaldo has now used the same phrase while talking to Georgina, his long-term partner.

The pair were both left in hysterics by the exchange.

While Messi and Weghorst clashed nearly two years ago, the Netherlands striker later downplayed their exchange.

“I fought against Messi and there were a few moments between us,” said the forward, who recently joined Ajax from Burnley.

“I think he didn’t like it and that it surprised him.

“But I have a lot of respect for him. He is among the greatest of all time.

“I wanted to show my respect for Messi after the game, but he didn’t want it. I think he was still angry with me.

“Oh well, I see it as a great compliment that he knows my name now. Then at least I did something right.”

Ronaldo, meanwhile, is set to play a part as Portugal prepare for fixtures against Croatia and Scotland.

At the age of 39, some felt he’d call time on his international career following their recent elimination from Euro 2024.

Ronaldo failed to score a single goal as Portugal crashed out of the tournament at the quarter-final stage to France.

But the veteran says retirement never crossed his mind as he looks to fire his country to Nations League glory once again.

“That’s all from the press. It never crossed my mind that my cycle [with Portugal] had come to an end,” he said.

“Quite the opposite: it gave me even more motivation to continue to be honest.

“The motivation is to come to the national team to win the Nations League. We’ve already won it once and we want to do it again.

“I might say the same thing over and over again, but I don’t think long term, it’s always short term.”
