Vogue Williams has opened up about parenting and her experiences being a working mum while speaking at the Executive Women’s Gathering in Dublin.

The TV star said she “100 per cent” experiences mum guilt, saying she wants to “be around” for her children, so much so that she will try to travel back home in between jobs, even though it can complicate things. She said: “It’s just something I’m willing to do.”

The 39-year-old explained that she had been in Ireland on Sunday night for a job on Monday, and despite having a job in Ireland on Thursday, she flew back to the UK in between, saying: “I just don’t want to leave the kids for that long”.

“But I think as a working mom, you do have that guilt. I hate when I read things where people say ‘You can’t have it all’,” Vogue said.

“I think it’s really unfair that as a woman you’re just expected to be the main caregiver, the main person at home and you’re trying to also work as well.

“Why can’t women do that as well? There’s nothing wrong with that. Obviously, I have a nanny at home because I work and I need somebody to look after my youngest son who’s not in school and I shouldn’t even need to make excuses for it, but you still kind of have that narrative,” she added.

“I think that women should be able to go out there and do a job that we love and be able to be a great mother as well and not have to feel guilty.

“You’ll obviously have times where you feel guilty, but I think that if you can balance it as much as you can, you should just go out there and do it and do what makes you feel good.”

Williams has three children with husband Spencer Matthews. She said all she hopes for their children is that they’re “kind”.

“I want them to be kind to people. I want them to be interested in people. I want them to be polite and just really happy.”
