Three Vaughan men have been charged following a violent robbery in a Markham parking lot last week.

York Regional Police said officers responded on March at 5 p.m. to a parking lot in the Woodbine Ave.-Yorktech Dr. area for a report of a robbery.

Officers arrived at the scene and learned that the victim had shown up at the location to sell several high-end shoes to a buyer he met online. While showing them items, police alleged, four suspects, including the buyer, violently assaulted the victim.

The attackers — one was armed with a knife –made off with the victim’s jewelry, wallet and three pairs of shoes.

Charged with armed robbery are: Ethan Luong, 21; Daniel Dinh Le, 22; and Arjun Sharma, 24. One suspect remains outstanding.

MARKHAM MAN CHARGED WITH FRAUD

A 25-year-old Markham man faces several fraud charges for allegedly illegally obtaining lines of credit to purchase jewelry.

Durham Regional Police said on Jan. 8 and Jan. 11, a man went to a Peoples Jewellers store, at 1355 Kingston Rd., Pickering, where he allegedly provided fraudulent identification, using different names on each occasion. He obtained a store line of credit on both occasions and purchased more than $20,000 of jewelry.

Police said a suspect was identified after someone allegedly committed similar offences throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

Samual Yzraiib faces charges, including two counts of fraud over $5,000, and failing to comply with a court order.

INFO SOUGHT AFTER AURORA HOME INVASION

Police in York Region are appealing for information following a daytime home invasion in Aurora earlier this month.

York Regional Police said officers were called on March 6 at about 11:20 a.m. to a residence in the Murray Dr.-Kennedy St. area for a home invasion.

The female victim reported answering the door after someone was knocking aggressively. As the front door opened, police said, a male suspect forced his way into the home and tried to restrain her.

Police said a second victim who was also at the residence tried to intervene and was violently assaulted.

Cops said the suspect fled the home in an unknown direction on foot without making any demands for valuables or stealing anything.

Both victims suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators have since obtained security images of the suspect, who they believe is possibly associated with an attempted break-and-enter in February.

SUTTON MAN CHARGED AFTER FIREARM SEIZED IN PICKERING

A 21-year-old Sutton man faces weapons charges after a firearm was seized during a traffic stop in Pickering.

Durham Regional Police said officers were dispatched on  March 13 at 6:20 a.m. to the Skyridge Blvd.-Sapphire Dr. area for a report about a vehicle blocking a driveway.

Officers said after arriving, they found a man sleeping in the driver seat of the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen.

The suspect was placed in custody without incident and during the search of the vehicle, a loaded firearm with ammunition was seized.

R.O.P.E SQUAD LOOKING FOR FEDERAL OFFENDER

The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad is asking for the public’s help finding a federal offender wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for allegedly breaching his statutory release.

Leslie Kurucz is described as a Caucasian male, 52 years old, 5-foot-8, 160 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

He is serving a two-year, nine-month sentence for assaulting a peace officer, assault with intent to resist arrest, mischief over $5,000, and breaking-and-entering.

The offender is known to frequent the Greater Toronto Area.

MAN CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT

A 21-year-old without a fixed address has been accused of sexually assaulting and holding a victim against their will, according to Toronto Police.

Officers responded on March 12 at 11:35 p.m. to a call for an assault in the Donlands Ave.-O’Connor Dr. Area.

Police said that between March 8-12 the suspect allegedly sexually assaulted the victim on several occasions and also assaulted the victim and held the victim against their will.

Balin Scott was charged with four counts of sexual assault, assault, two counts of assault choking, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, uttering death threats and other offences.

SUSPECT WANTED FOR HALF-DOZEN BREAK-INS

An unidentified suspect is wanted for a string of break-ins at downtown commercial businesses.

Toronto Police said officers responded on Sunday to several break-and-enter calls in the Yonge and Wellesley Sts. area.

Police alleged that in the early morning hours the suspect forced entry into six different businesses. Once inside, he allegedly took items from each property.

The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Cops said that the thief made off with $2,500 worth of cash and other items.

TORONTO MAN CHARGED AFTER RESIDENTIAL BREAK-INS

A 40-year-old Toronto man has been charged after a string of residential break-and-enters in Scarborough and North York.

Toronto Police said that between November 2024 and February 2025, officers responded to several daytime break-ins to residential addresses.

It’s alleged that the suspect entered the homes by forced entry and, once inside, targeted the bedrooms, stealing valuables and money.

Police said the items totalled about $50,000.

Colin Agostinho was charged with 12 counts of break-and-enter commit and disguise with intent, and other offences.

2 CHARGED, 2 SOUGHT FOR CONVENIENCE STORE ROBBERIES

To men have been charged and two more are wanted after several Scarborough convenience store break-ins and robberies.

Toronto Police said the incidents happened between November 2024 and February 2025.

Police alleged that four suspects targeted convenience stores during their closed hours, gaining entry by forcibly breaking into each business. Once inside, the accused allegedly primarily stole lottery tickets and cigarettes before fleeing the scene.

Lajos Galamb, 24, of no fixed address, has been charged with five counts of break and enter commit, five counts of disguise with intent, five counts of fail to comply with release order, and three counts of possession of property obtained by crime exceeding $5,000.

Asif Iqbal, 44, of Toronto, has been charged with four counts of break and enter commit, four counts of disquise with intent, and five counts of possession of property obtained by crime exceeding $5,000.

Richard Ando, 27, of Oshawa, is wanted for six counts each of break and enter commit and disguise with intent, four counts of possession of property obtained by crime exceeding $5,000, and six counts of fail to comply undertaking.

Ference Glonczi, 35, of Mississauga, is wanted for four counts each of break and enter commit, disguise with intent, possession of property obtained by crime exceeding $5,000 and fail to comply with release order.
