Jellycats are currently causing a stir, so when one woman spotted a rare one for a steal, she had to buy it.

These plush toys come in an array of designs to delight everyone; they boast the cutest, most irresistible faces, and even though they’re not exactly budget-friendly, people can’t get enough of them.

In fact, such is the obsession that bargain hunters scour charity shops for these cuddly creatures, with some lucky Jellycat aficionados finding tagless treasures for as little as 50p. Bargain hunter Lola Amuah took to Facebook to share her amazement: “The largest Jellycat we’ve ever seen was in a charity shop”.

She and her companion were on the lookout for children’s toys to keep the little ones amused, stumbling upon games and other entertaining items, but nothing prepared them for the moment they stumbled upon an enormous Jellycat.

Upon discovering the Jellycat, Lola exclaimed: “Take it off, and look at the tag”.

To their astonishment, upon closer inspection, they found it was a massive dog Jellycat, sporting a price tag of just £20. The find left them astounded, and for good reason. This particular toy is listed on Etsy as the “rarest Jellycat,” commanding a hefty price tag.

Described as the ‘Jellycat Truffles Dog Jumbo Pillow Plush SUPER Large,’ the Etsy listing values this colossal canine at £399.45 – due to its rarity. Touted as “the Holy Grail of Jellycats to add to your collection,” the toy, despite its significant cost, is “not in mint condition”.

However, a more realistic price can be found on eBay for £104, which is still a lot more expensive than the £20 charity shop bargain.

As Lola was paying for the item, she commented: “I’ve never seen a Jellycat like that” due to its large size.

One commenter joked: “Shh, never shout out ‘Jellycat’ in a charity shop,” accompanied by two laughing emojis.

Another user agreed, sharing a story about a charity shop manager who refused to sell Jellycats to a customer after they revealed their true value, knowing they were underpriced.

A Facebook user expressed their enthusiasm, saying: “Amazing! I love watching your videos and seeing your bargains. I love a charity shop”.
