Bradley Walsh was ecstatic as a contestant on the celebrity special of The Chase made history. In the thrilling episode aired on Saturday, Joe Sugg, 33, Myles Stephenson, 33, David James, 54, and Lucrezia Millarini, 49, faced off against Paul Sinha, aka The Sinnerman, in an attempt to win money for charity.
Joe Sugg, a YouTuber and ex-Strictly finalist, managed to rack up £8,000 in his cash builder round. He was then tempted with a lower offer of £1,000 and a staggering high offer of £201,000.
Mulling over his options, Joe said: “If I go for the [the high offer] it could make a viral moment, which is a good thing. […] It’d be an incredible amount for charity as well.”

Choosing the high offer, Joe answered a series of questions correctly, prompting speculation that he might bring home the largest sum ever won on the show.
As Joe approached the final question about hedgehogs, needing only one more correct answer, an excited Bradley said: “I wish you luck. You’re gonna make history here, mate. If you go though you’re making history.”, reports the Express.
He also joked: “We’re gonna go viral. I better stand next to you if you’re gonna go through! Come on, good luck.”

The atmosphere turned electric when “sight” was revealed as the correct answer, triggering Joe to jump for joy as the crowd burst into applause. A triumphant hug with Bradley ensued as he said: “Absolutely brilliant!”.
Joe’s correct response propelled the team’s cumulative total to a staggering £213,000, raising the stakes for the final chase. However, only three contestants, including Joe, progressed to face Paul after Lucrezia’s elimination.
In a thrilling finale, the team answered 18 questions correctly but was ultimately caught by the chaser Paul Sinha with 28 seconds to spare, leading to a heart-wrenching loss of their built-up winnings. But the team still took home £1,000 each for their chosen charities.
The Chase airs weekly at 5pm on ITV, with episodes available on ITVX
