Edmonton’s own Pizza 73 is honouring Edmonton Oilers goalie Stuart Skinner with a short-term rebrand and a new limited-time special, The Skinner Deal.

Not to be outdone by McDonald’s Big MacDavid, Pizza 73 has temporarily changed its name to Pizza 74 in honour of Skinner’s jersey number and is launching a new meal deal Monday, the pizza chain announced in a news release. The Skinner Deal comes with a large two-topping pizza and three drinks for $18.99.

The meal and rebrand were designed with Skinner’s Edmonton roots in mind and intended to celebrate his connection with fans.

“I’m thrilled to team up with Pizza 74 for this exciting special,” Skinner said in the release. “As a born and raised Edmontonian, it’s an honor to collaborate with a local brand that’s been such a staple in our community and launch the Skinner Dinner for fans to enjoy.”

Pizza 74 debuted the rebrand last week without much fanfare, opting to show off the new name and redesigned logo across the chain’s social media channels after the soft launch of the Pizza 74 website. The Pizza 74 logo will also appear on arena boards during Edmonton Oilers home games starting Monday.

“Pizza 73, temporarily now Pizza 74, is proud to partner with Stuart Skinner, a true local hero, to bring fans a unique experience,” said Adam Williamson, marketing director of Pizza 73. “We can’t wait to see everyone enjoying the Skinner Dinner while cheering on the Oilers.”
