Many people will be celebrating today to mark St Patrick’s Day. The event is celebrated every year on March 17th to commemorate the patron saint of Ireland.
Over the years it has evolved into a global celebration of Irish culture, marked by parades, music, Irish dancing, traditional food, and wearing the colour green. So whether it is a trip to the local pub or enjoying a quiet drink at home you don’t have to have links with Ireland to enjoy the day.
Chef Jamie Oliver says there are “few days as joyful” as St Patrick Day. He has shared a recipe for a creamy cocktail, complete with all the key ingredients which can be made in five minutes.
The recipe is a single serving so you don’t need to make lots if there are just one or two of you. It also promises to be “not too tricky”.
According to the Jamie Oliver website the drink is similar to another popular beverage. It says: ” This simple Guinness cocktail is a riff on a Guinness punch – it’s like a boozy, rich Baileys!”

However ar 223 calories per glass you might not want too many of them if you are watching your waistline. The 5-ingredient recipe can be completed in just three steps.
