On Monday’s (March 17) episode of ITV’s Good Morning Britain, viewers noticed that regular entertainment presenter Richard Arnold was conspicuously absent.
Stepping in for him, host Richard Madeley announced, “As we said before the break, we have brought in someone very special to replace Richard Arnold, because he’s away on his jollies at the moment. Our entertainment correspondent today is a fantastic dancer, he loves DJing, he adores Carol Vorderman and has so got the hots for Carol.”
He continued, revealing the celebrity filling in: “He took part in last year’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! It’s Melvin Odoom! Before we hand over the reins to him, let’s remind ourselves of his time in the jungle.”
Subsequently, the show presented clips of Melvin participating in the famed reality series in December 2024.

Following the montage, Richard Madeley inquired, “Have you met Carol?” to which Melvin responded, “I can’t tell you why, but I met her last week for a very secret project. And she was glorious and lovely.”
He added with enthusiasm, “It was amazing. We actually took a little selfie together which I posted online the other day. But yeah, she’s really cool,” reports the Express.
Then, injecting a bit of playful curiosity, co-host Susanna Reid asked, “And is there going to be a second date?”
However, Melvin deftly kept the details under wraps, responding, “It wasn’t… I can’t say why we met. I see what you’re doing there! But we met and I will tell you all very, very soon.”
Before the break, the programme teased viewers with a preview of Melvin taking charge of the entertainment segment. He excitedly told the audience, “Hey guys, thank you so much. It’s great to be here and I’m so excited, I can’t lie.”

During the final week of last year’s I’m a Celeb, Melvin was the fourth celebrity sent packing from the jungle.
Post-exit, he was pleasantly surprised by touching messages left for him by Carol Vorderman, a former Queen of the Jungle, on the spin-off show, I’m A Celebrity: Unpacked.
He excitedly shared, “So she went on Unpacked with Joel Dommett, so when I came out, I had all these beautiful messages [from her] which they played out on the show.”
Touching on his affection for the star, he revealed, “To be honest, she’s my genuine crush and to get messages from Carol Vorderman was pretty much enough for me. But when I’ve been in the street or on the train, everyone’s just been like, ‘Oh my God, Melvin has Carol messaged you yet?'”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 6am
