Conor McGregor made a surprise appearance at the White House podium on St Patrick’s Day, addressing the press in a sharp green three-piece suit as he ranted about immigration.
The former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion was accompanied by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who described the impromptu address as “very festive”.
McGregor, a known supporter of President Trump, took to the podium with confidence as he shared his views on Irish-American relations.
The fighter’s appearance was unplanned, occurring after Leavitt was showing him the press room where she “battles the press”.

McGregor used his platform to emphasise the close relationship between Ireland and America, describing the nations as “siblings”.
“Ireland and America we are siblings,” the MMA star declared, highlighting the importance “for Irish Americans to have a place to visit”.
He went on to characterise Ireland as America’s “little bro” in need of protection.

“We wish to be taken care of by the big bro. The United States should look after its little bro. That’s how we feel,” McGregor stated.
The fighter’s comments came during a St Patrick’s Day visit that included planned meetings with President Trump and other administration officials.
McGregor used his White House platform to rail against illegal immigration in his homeland.

“What’s going on in Ireland is a travesty. Our government is a government of zero action,” he said forcefully.
The Dublin-born fighter criticised Irish authorities for directing resources away from domestic concerns.
“Our money is being spent overseas issues that has nothing to do with the Irish people,” McGregor stated.

He described what he called an “illegal immigration racket” that is “ravaging our country”.
His comments represented a stark warning about Ireland’s future, suggesting the nation faces potentially “losing its Irishness” if current trends continue.
McGregor directed his message specifically to the Irish diaspora in America.

“The 40 million Irish Americans need to hear this. Because if not, there will be no place to come home and visit,” he warned.
The fighter also expressed admiration for President Trump during his remarks.
He described the American leader as “inspiring” while noting their scheduled meeting would include “a little bit of learning and listening for President Trump”.
