An Oshawa youth out on three release orders was arrested and a 21-year-old Toronto man is wanted for a kidnapping in Liberty Village last summer.
Toronto Police said they were notified about a kidnapping that occurred July 31, 2024, in the East Liberty St. and Hanna Ave. area.
Police allege the victim and two suspects, one youth and one man, were in a vehicle. The suspects brandished a handgun and threatened the victim.
According to police, the victim was then forced to sit in the passenger side of his own vehicle with his head down while the suspects drove the car to an unknown location. Once they arrived at the location, the suspects forced the victim to retrieve a stolen vehicle.
The suspects took the victim’s cellphone and car keys, cops said.
Once the stolen vehicle was retrieved, the suspects fled the scene in the stolen vehicle, leaving the victim behind.
Police said officers with the Major Crime Unit at 14 Division executed three search warrants on Nov. 2, 2024, in the Toronto and Oshawa areas.
It is further alleged that an extended 30-round magazine, ammunition, and a quantity of crystal methamphetamine were located and seized during the searches.
