A knife-wielding home invader assaulted a victim when he broke into a dwelling, only to flee empty handed, according to Toronto Police.
Officers converged on the Broadview Ave.-Gerrard Sts. area around 3 a.m. on March 4 after they received a call about a break and enter.
Police alleged a thug confronted an occupant of the residence and assaulted the victim before taking off without taking anything.
Police said they made an arrest after what officers described as three similar crimes in the area.
On March 11, a thief allegedly stole jewelry from a home after damaging a security camera at another dwelling. Two days later, police alleged, the same person left threatening notes at two residences.
Eian Dickson, 30, of Toronto, has been charged with robbery with an offensive weapon, breaking and entering, two counts of failing to comply with probation order and other offences.
