Samsays: “You don’t have to spend a fortune to discover incredible wines. For example, if you love a bold Primitivo, you’ll be blown away by the richness and complexity of a Macedonian Kratosija. And for fans of delicate Provence Rosé, I highly recommend trying a Bulgarian Pinot Noir Rosé – a delicious and unexpected alternative.”

The first pick is ‘Unearthed Macedonian Kratosija’ (£6.99), which Sam describes as: “a burst of youthful energy in the glass.”

She adds: “This wine unfolds with aromas of sun-ripened red cherries, juicy plums and delicate raspberries. The palate is smooth and medium-bodied, offering a delightful dance of white pepper spice and a hint of decadent chocolate.”

Fans of Primitivo are recommended this bottle due to its notes and palate.

The second bottle is Aldi’s ‘Specially Selected Costières de Nîmes Blanc’ (£8.99), which is compared to a Gavi.

“Imagine the crisp, clean flavours of a classic Gavi, but with its own unique twist,” explains Sam. “Light and refreshingly crisp, this tasty tipple offers a vibrant bouquet of ripe conference pear, juicy galia melon, delicate apricot blossom and zesty lemon. The palate is beautifully balanced, with a lively acidity softened by a smooth, inviting texture.”

Next up is ‘Unearthed Austrian Gemischter Satz’ (£8.99), described as a “more exotic take on Albariño”.

“Ripe and flavourful, this wine bursts with notes of stone fruit, nectarine, tangerine, mango, honeysuckle and apricot. Medium-bodied, with a refreshing fennel hint on the finish,” says Sam. She adds that this bottle is: “perfect for a warm spring day.”

Sam also recommends ‘Specially Selected Austrian Zweigelt Rosé (£8.99), which has “the bright, fruity flavours of a Spanish Rosé.”

The wine is described as having “a gorgeous, vibrant pink hue”, and “enticing aromas of red cherry, raspberry and pomegranate. The palate is dry and fresh with a tasty twist of tangerine on the finish.”

Finally, Sam recommends ‘Unearthed Thracian Valley Pinot Noir Rosé’ (£8.99)

“Evoking the effortless elegance of a French Provençal Rosé, this is a vision of summer in a glass,” explains Sam. “With attractive notes of ripe strawberries, peach, melon and conference pear, this pretty pale pink blush is light and zesty, making an elegant tipple.”
