The recent burst of sunshine has certainly boosted our anticipation for spring. And while the colder weather is still in our midst, I can’t wait for brighter days when a simple skincare routine of moisturiser, sun cream, blush and a dash of lipstick will suffice for my day-to-day look.

Lookfantastic’s newly launched March beauty box is perfectly timed to complement this minimalist routine. Priced at £15 for a single purchase or £13 per month with a 12-month subscription (which delivers a new box each month), the March Box edit offers six varied, mostly travel-sized products.

These are ideal for discovering new favourites or replenishing your beloved staples. This competes with Glossybox’s beauty box subscription, which provides five items – a combination of full and deluxe sizes – for a one-time payment of £13.50, reports the Mirror.

For those seeking a one-time splurge, Lookfantastic has recently unveiled its Beauty Easter Egg for 2025. Alternatively, Cult Beauty’s X Hush edit, valued at over £145, is available for £42 and features products from renowned brands such as Charlotte Tilbury, By Terry, Saie, Nars, and more.

The Lookfantastic March box is packed with delightful skincare and haircare products that, after giving them a whirl, have left my hair smelling divine and my skin radiating, if I do say so myself. Although I loved all the box’s contents, I thought I’d give you my top picks – and why.

Boasting an impressive value of over £80, the box promises to put a ‘spring’ in your step with its featured brands that include Emma Hardie, ESPA, Forea, Dr. Lipp, and Rodial—a brand that has reportedly caught the attention of the Princess of Wales. The coveted Rodial Dragon’s Blood Sculpting gel, which retails at £27 for a mini size (just £12 more than the price of the box itself) or £95 for a full 50ml tub, is celebrated for its hydrating, plumping, and firming effects on the skin.

The product description on the website states: “Known for its healing and anti-inflammatory properties, dragon’s blood hydrates and soothes skin, while a blend of actives including Collageneer®, VolufilineTM and glycerin boost elasticity and collagen production, firmness and moisture levels for your healthiest complexion ever.”

As for my personal experience, I’ve been using the gel as a moisturiser, and although there haven’t been any dramatic changes in the appearance of my skin, it certainly feels tighter after application and remains so throughout the day. Plus, it has a delightful scent—fruity and fresh.

Another standout item that left my skin feeling hydrated, looking luminous, and smelling divine was the Emma Hardie Midas Touch Revitalising Cream, valued at a generous £34. It absorbed well into my skin, not vanishing entirely (although no white cast) but leaving it feeling hydrated and nourished, thanks to the inclusion of Hyaluronic Acid and Hyaluronic Acid Filling Spheres in its formula.

The product is lightweight and doesn’t leave my forehead looking greasy. Its fragrance is reminiscent of Elemis, with a herbal, essential oil scent due to its natural oils of moringa, evening primrose, and rosehip.

While I haven’t used it long enough to notice any reduction in my faint elevens lines and crows feet, it certainly leaves my skin feeling good. My favourite item in the pack might surprise you – it’s the smallest and cheapest one: the Dr.Lipp 100% Natural Moisturising Colour Lip Tint.

Despite its name, this multi-tasking product intensely hydrates your lips and can also be used as a blush and glossy eyeshadow. Priced at £5.59 in the Lookfantastic sale, it’s perhaps one of their most affordable products, but I adore the moisture it gives my lips (for hours) and the subtle pink hue. Plus, popped on my cheeks delivers a dewy finish when used as a blush.

It’s easy to blend with a finger and leaves a shimmering lift that adds a fresh flush. I can see this becoming a staple multi-use product for holidays when all you want is a subtle tint on your lips and cheeks to enhance your natural tan. I will say that it is quite sticky, so let it settle for a while, although this helps give it a glowy finish.

I haven’t yet tried it on my eyelids as an eyeshadow because I have sensitive eyes. I don’t quite know how I feel about applying a balm there, but I’m sure it’s a triple-threat product to have in your beauty arsenal for those who don’t mind this texture.

Regarding the ESPA shampoo, I’ve previously tried this jasmine and bergamot range. The scent is heavenly and reminiscent of a spa experience, but it didn’t revolutionise my hair care routine.

While I haven’t yet tested the FOREO face mask, priced at £6, I foresee the £4 Brushworks Back Comb Brush becoming a staple in my collection for taming my baby hairs when slicking my hair back into a bun or ponytail (in a ballerina style). Attempting to backcomb my curls would likely result in disaster and potentially a broken brush (speaking from experience).
