The county hurdle goes to post at 2.00, where Willie Mullins saddles four horses including the top two in the betting.

Kargese was second in the Triumph Hurdle behind Majborough last year and he’s the 11/4 favourite for Paul Townend.

Danny Mullins picks up the ride on last year’s winner Absurde who is 5/1, having come from the back to win the race last year. Lark In The Mornin is 9/2 for Joseph O’Brien while Emmett Mullins has McLaurey at 7/1.

Tony Bloom is the owner of Poniros. He’s the majority owner and chairman of Brighton and Hove Albion, and is known as a big punter. But Willie Mullins concedes that he didn’t advise Bloom to back the horse, capturing the general sense of shock surrounding that result.

100/1 Irish winner in the JCB Triumph hurdle!

Another surprise in the week keeps on surprising us.

Poniros is the 100/1 winner of the JCB Triumph hurdle for Jonjo O’Neill jnr and Willie Mullins.

It’s another big win for the bookies as Mullins triumphs with a huge outsider.

The hot favourite East India Dock led coming to the last along with Nicky Henderson’s Lalumba but they were stunned by a hurdling debutante, who finished like a train passing them all out with a late charge up the hill.

It’s Jonjo O’Neill Jnr’s second winner of the week and Willie Mullins’ seventh.

“I didn’t expect that,” says Willie Mullins.

2. Lulamba 11/4
3. East India Dock 5/4f

The JCB Triumph Hurdle for four year olds begins in ten minutes. The highly rated East India Dock (11/8) is the favourite for the English, followed by Lulamba (9/4) for Nicky Henderson.

Gavin Cromwell’s Hello Neighbour won in Leopardstown at Christmas and again in February, and is 5/1 to remain unbeaten, while Lady Vega Allen leads Willie Mullins’ eleven strong team, with Paul Townend’s mount set to go off in and around 12/1.

Watch Galopin Des Champs win last year’s Gold Cup, beating Gerri Colombe and showing his class up the home straight. It certainly whets the appetite for the big one today, which takes place at 4.00.

Patrick Mullins fancies Galopin Des Champs to do the hat-trick and win the Gold Cup for a third successive year.

Al Boum Photo came up just short in his three-in-a-row bid but Mullins tips Galopin to win and delight the Cheltenham crowd.

“We have prepared the champion as best we can and it is over to him and Paul Townend now.”

Today is the day!

It’s Gold Cup day and you’re very welcome to our coverage.

Galopin Des Champs is looking to win the race for a third successive year and will go off the odds-on favourite for Willie Mullins and Paul Townend.

The racing begins at 1.20 with the JCB Triumph Hurdle where Mullins saddles an unbelievable eleven runners.

But the favourite is James Owen’s East India Dock, which will be ridden by Sam Twiston Davies.

Gavin Cromwell’s Hello Neighbour is well fancied as is Nicky Henderson’s Lulamba. It’s the last day of the festival after another entertaining week at the Cotswolds.

That’s a wrap on day three of the festival, where Rachael Blackmore and Henry De Bromhead were once again the stars of the show.

They won the first with Air of Entitlement and brought up a double in the Stayers’ when Bob Olinger defeated Teahupoo.

Fact To File blew everyone away with a scintillating display in the Ryanair, giving Mark Walsh and JP McManus another festival winner.

There’s only one day of racing to go, with the Gold Cup coming up tomorrow as Galopin Des Champs bids to make it a hat-trick of Gold Cups. All eyes will be on the Cotswolds once more.

Daily Present wins the Kim Muir for Wexford trainer Paul Nolan and jockey Barry Thomas Stone

Favourite Johnnywho was narrowly beaten into second having nodded on landing after the last, halting his momentum. Daily Present stalked the favourite up the home straight and landed full of running, powering towards the finishing post.

It’s a big win for the Wexford trainer Nolan and it’s more disappointment for punters with the 9/2 favourite hitting the cross-bar.

2. Johnnywho 9/2f
3. Sa Majeste 8/1

Jonjo O’Neill jnr wore the Cork armband as a tribute to Michael O’Sullivan, riding Jagwar to glory

Jonjo O’Neill jnr recorded his second festival win on Jagwar in the penultimate race of the day.

The jockey wore a Cork armband during the race as a tribute to the late Michael O’Sullivan.

He looked to the skies after the win and spoke highly of the Cork man.

“I wore his Cork flag because I felt I needed a bit of luck. I said a few prayers to Michael,” he said.

Jagwar wins the second last, landing a big gamble

Conflated led for the majority of the race in a fine performance but he faded, and the big gamble of the race wins for Jonjo O’Neill jnr and JP McManus, returning at 3/1.

Jagwar and Thecompanysergeant were neck-and-neck jumping the last but the horse trained by Oliver Greenall & Josh Guerriero found more up the home straight.
