Two people walked away without major injuries after a light aircraft crashed on landing. The white two-seater light aircraft ended up upside down in a field.
Both occupants were taken to the hospital for checkups with minor injuries after the crash at Westonzoyland Airfield, near Bridgwater, Somerset yesterday (12 Mar).

A South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust spokesperson said: “We were called at 1 pm on Wednesday to an incident in Bridgwater. We sent two double-crewed land ambulances and a responding officer to the scene.

“We conveyed two patients by land ambulance to Musgrove Park Hospital.”
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service sent two appliances to the scene. A spokesperson for the service said the two-seater aircraft had “flipped on landing”, adding both occupants were “free and clear” by the time crews arrived.

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch said it had started a safety investigation and was making enquiries.
