A Co Londonderry woman whose sudden death last weekend is being investigated by the PSNI has been named locally as Jolene McDaid.

Detectives are working to establish the “full circumstances” surrounding the death of the Kilrea mum which occurred on Sunday.

A 38-year-old man was arrested but has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Ms McDaid, who was in her 40s, is remembered in a death notice as a “much loved daughter” and “loving mother”.

Her funeral will take place in Limavady on Friday.

“Much loved daughter of Marlene and Vincent, loving mother of Josh, dear sister of Vinnie, Anthony, Christle, Glen and the late James – also a loving auntie,” the notice reads.

Mourners wishing to pay their respects were invited do so at Browns Funeral Home on Wednesday evening.

A graveside service will be held in Enagh Cemetery at 1pm tomorrow.

The family has requested that donations to the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity.

“Jolene will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her entire family circle,” the funeral notice adds.

Loved one have paid emotional tributes to Ms McDaid on social media.

“I can’t even try to imagine a life without you in it,” a relative posted.

“I wish I could wake up and for it to all be a bad dream.

“Rest easy beautiful, I hope you’re at peace. I love you sis️.”

Friends also expressed disbelief and sadness online.

“What a shock to find out the loss of a beautiful friend with a beautiful soul,” one wrote.

“Words can not express how loved you were and how much you will be sadly missed by many.

“Thank you for always being there for me over the years and for the support you gave me.”
