Lorraine Kelly has responded to Michelle Keegan’s distinctive baby name choice with a single word, describing it as “fabulous” and speculating on its origin during her ITV show.
The presenter informed her audience that the Ten Pound Poms star had given birth and discussed the name chosen by actress and her husband Mark Wright for their daughter – Palma Elizabeth Wright.
After returning from an ad break, Lorraine congratulated the celebrity couple, saying: “A huge congratulations to Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright who have announced the birth of their baby daughter – that’s such a lovely picture.
“They’ve called her Palma – now Palma is believed to be inspired by their love of the Spanish island of Mallorca. Palma of course being the capital.”
Lorraine then playfully suggested: “Maybe that’s where she’s conceived? Who knows – if so, fabulous.”
Yesterday, Michelle and Mark shared the joyful news of Palma’s arrival with a black and white photo of their newborn on Instagram. The caption went: “Together we have a new love to share… Our little girl” followed by a white heart emoji, reports the Mirror. They added: “Palma Elizabeth Wright. 06.03.25.”
The couple’s announcement was met with an outpouring of love and congratulations in the comments section, with Jess Wright, Mark’s sister, sharing: “Most beautiful addition to our family. I finally have a niece and I am so in love.”
Fitness guru Joe Wicks also expressed his emotions, commenting: “I’m crying over here. I know how much you’ve wanted to be a dad and you’ll be an amazing dad too. This is the most beautiful thing to see. So happy for you both.”

Curiosity has been piqued among fans regarding the inspiration behind baby Palma’s name, as some speculate it hints at her conception being near the Spanish island. Her middle name, Elizabeth, is the same as her mother’s.
The couple is known to own a stunning apartment close to Palma city, which they refurbished in 2023. A fan speculated: “I wonder if they were in Majorca 9 months ago. An unusual but beautiful name. “
