Amanda Holden has revealed her “biggest Ick” with husband Chris Hughes as she brands his dress sense “unacceptable”.
The Heart FM presenter and music producer Chris have been married since 2008, tying the knot in a luxury manor house. And while Amanda has previously dubbed her husband “fit” on air, she says his dress sense can be an “ick”.
These are moments when you find yourself slightly put-off by someone. Speaking to Heart co-host Jamie Theakston, Amanda says there is one particular clothing item of Chris’s that should be “burn without any hesitation”.

She said: “My ick with Chris, although that does sound quite dramatic, is when Chris is dressed casually. My husband looks really nice when he goes out but his relaxed look, the thing I would burn without any hesitation, but I think it would pollute the air, is that he owns yellow Crocs.
“He bought them in yellow to annoy me and what he tends to do when he’s just casual is wear his Everton football shirts, a t-shirt with the Muppets on, or a heavy metal t-shirt, he looks an absolute sight. It’s fine about the house but at the same time, if I said do you want to come out for a dog walk, he would come out like that. It’s fine though, because I walk very fast and he’s always behind me anyway.“
One Heart listener wrote in to say their “ick” was when their wife is on her phone when they settle down to watch TV together. Amanda added: “My husband is addicted to TikTok and funny memes and constantly on the phone.”
Co-host Jamie quipped: “Are you still together after this morning’s show?”
Amanda says “everything she does” gets on Chris’s nerves. She says she folds his clothing, shuts the draws he leaves open, “hides his crocs” and tells him what to do when he’s in the car.
Amanda and Chris are believed to have first met in Los Angeles in 2003, with the star saying she felt “something primitive” when they first locked eyes. They are now happily married and share daughters Lexi and Hollie together.
Speaking about her husband to The Mirror, Amanda said: “Oh god I really fancy Chris. We’ll be eating dinner in a restaurant, he’ll go to the loo, then I’ll look up, catch a glimpse of a man and think, ‘He’s fit’ and then realise, ‘[explicit] that’s my husband! I still fancy him!”
