Researchers have compiled a definitive list of the 50 happiest songs of all time – with 1983 Eurovision winning hit, ‘Walking on Sunshine’ by Katrina and The Waves at the top, followed by ‘Here Comes the Sun’ by The Beatles and Pharrell Williams ‘Happy’.
Bob Marley & The Wailers appear three times in the 50 strong list with ‘Sun is Shining’, ‘Stir It up’ and ‘Concrete Jungle’, alongside international hits like ‘California Girls’ by The Beach Boys, ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ by Queen, ‘Summer of 69’ by Bryan Adams and ‘Beautiful Day’ by U2.
A survey found40 per cent say that certain songs have the power to put them into summer mode and more than half play musicfrom the country they are visiting when getting ready for a holiday. The survey was commissioned byMSC Cruises, who have created a new album, reimagining Brits’ favourite feel-good hits.
