A doctor has unveiled a list of five everyday foods he says can contribute to “long, thick hair“.

Maintaining luscious, healthy hair is often high on the priority list for many many of us. Naturally, we all aspire to sport thick and strong hair that radiates vitality.

Five foods recommended by Dr Joe for healthier hair

Speaking directly to the camera, Dr Joe began: “Long, thick hair. If that’s what you want, here’s five foods you need to incorporate into your diet today:

  1. Eggs – They are a great source of protein, biotin and vitamin B12, all which are essential for hair growth.
  2. Salmon – This is an excellent source of omega 3 fatty acids. It helps to strengthen hair and promote hair growth.
  3. Spinach – It’s rich in vitamins A and C, both of which are important to produce sebum which keeps your hair moisturised.
  4. Nuts – These are high in protein, vitamin E and zinc, all which are important for hair growth. Vitamin E also improves blood circulation to your scalp.
  5. Sweet potato – A good source of Vitamin C and also contains beta carotene which is converted to vitamin A in your body.”
