Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer disputes he and the Labour Party have anything against farmers despite controversial economic policies affecting agriculture.

Speaking in the House of Commons, the PM assured MPs: “Mr Speaker, the budget provided £5billion for farming over the next two years. That is a record amount.

“We’ve set out the roadmap for farming, which has been welcomed by farmers, and many thousands of farms have benefited from the farming schemes.”
