Darts icon Bobby George believes Luke Littler would ‘slaughter’ Phil Taylor if they were to play each other – and that a match would ‘almost be embarrassing’.
Littler is the heir to Taylor’s throne, with the 18-year-old establishing himself as one of the best players on the planet over the past year.
The teenager has already won the World Darts Championship, having secured glory with a victory over Michael van Gerwen in January.
And Littler also won the Premier League at the first time of asking in 2024, with Luke Humphries overcome in the final of that competition.

Taylor is widely considered to be the greatest darts player of all time, having won 16 world titles during his prime years.
But George, speaking on the talkBULL podcast, has now expressed a belief that Littler would be too strong for Taylor – even when the 64-year-old was operating at the peak of his powers.
“Look, he [Taylor] was a great player, you have your day,” he said.
“[But] you get to a certain age in your life in your sport, everyone has it, and your body doesn’t allow you to play as you used to.

“If he played Littler now he’d get slaughtered, it’d be most embarrassing.”
Talk of Littler and Taylor potentially facing each other has arisen amid the teenager’s whirlwind form.
But George thinks the darts veteran would be unwise to face a player on the up.
“The thing is, he’s retired. He’s played in the Seniors and he can’t even win in the Seniors,” added the 79-year-old.

“So playing a guy that’s one of the greatest players in the world at this time, he’s got no chance
“If he does it for the money, then alright, take the bees and honey.
“But he takes all the credit for what he’s done, and a young guy of 18 beats him up.
“He ain’t got a chance, he’s too good the young boy, he’s too good.”

Taylor, for his part, has had nothing but positive things to say about Littler.
And the darts legend, speaking exclusively to GB News last month, admitted that he wasn’t keen on pitting his wits against the youngster.
“No, absolutely not,” he said when asked if he’d be interested in a match.

Taylor then added: “What’s that game where you got to push the blocks out? Jenga.
“He beat me at that! The little b******!
“He’s a lovely lad, though.”
