Daily Mail journalist Sue Reid has claimed that migrant sex offences are “impacting women’s lives” after it has been revealed that foreign nationals were found to be 71 per cent more likely than Britons to be responsible for sex crime convictions between 2021 and 2023.
The figures, obtained under freedom of information laws, show a disproportionate rate of offending compared to the 9.3 per cent of the population they represent.
Sue Reid told GB News: “I noticed yesterday that Germany said that it’s closing its borders imminently.
“There’s going to be passport control and the figures are going to echo this, ditto in Sweden.

“I mean they’re very, very similar figures. The Swedish figures for rape among the foreigners they’ve allowed in from certain countries are very, very serious indeed.
“What worries me most of all is the effect it’s having on women. A friend of my son’s told me, I’ve just stopped running in the morning in Clapham, in the park and on the common because it’s just not worth it.

“And that is a girl in her early 20s, so she feels scared. And I think a lot of women’s lives are being impacted on this right across Europe.”
Of the 16,771 convictions for sexual offences carried out by someone with a known nationality, migrants accounted for 2,500. A further eight per cent of convictions were recorded as “unknown nationalities”.
These “unknown” cases are likely to largely include non-British nationals, potentially raising the foreign national conviction rate to nearly a quarter of all sex crimes.
This represents the first data analysis of its kind on conviction rates by nationality.
The Government is responding to these concerning statistics with new measures to protect the public.
Home Secretary Yvette Cooper will announce terror-style powers to tag and restrict the movements of dangerous foreign nationals.
A Government spokesman said: “We are committed to delivering justice for victims and safer streets for our communities.”

“Any foreign nationals who commit heinous crimes should be in no doubt we will do everything to make sure they are not free on Britain’s streets.”
Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp called the figures “shocking” and advocated for stronger action.
“We need to kick out all foreign national offenders,” he said.
The Conservatives are tabling an amendment to disapply the Human Rights Act to immigration matters.
