Good Morning Britain was interrupted as host Susanna Reid paused the programme to deliver distressing breaking news.
During Tuesday’s (March 11) episode of the ITV morning show, the 54-year-old TV presenter and her co-host Ed Balls, 58, were back on our screens to present the day’s headline stories.
However, just moments into the show, Susanna provided viewers with crucial updates regarding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
It has been disclosed that Ukraine initiated a significant drone attack on Moscow in the early hours of this morning, resulting in at least one fatality and several injuries.
Breaking into the programme to share the news, Susanna announced: “Good Morning Britain, breaking news for you. One person has been killed and three injured in Moscow after Ukraine launches what appears to have launched its largest drone attack against Russia in three years,” reports the Manchester Evening News.

Ed chimed in: “It comes as high-stakes peace talks begin between The White House and Ukrainian officials – that’s happening in Saudi Arabia later today. The aim is to bring an end to the war in Russia.”
The pair then passed over to Richard Gaisford, who was reporting live from the Ministry of Defence in London.
Discussing the attack, Richard elaborated: “Ukraine sent more than 300 drones inside of Russia, many of them targeting what’s believed to be oil refineries outside of Moscow that supply the Russian military.
“Also targeting Russian forces in Kursk because they’re currently trying to repel the Ukrainians who sit there on Russian soil.”
The broadcaster then unveiled footage and images of the turmoil, remarking: “The air defences around Moscow have been in action, they’ve released images and videos of them trying to shoot the drones out of the sky.”

The offensive occurred as delegations from the US and Ukraine were set to convene for peace discussions in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday (March 11), amid efforts by the US to halt the three-year conflict initiated by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
The impending talks between the two parties come in the wake of a tense encounter between Zelensky and Trump at the White House last month, an event followed by the US suspending military aid and intelligence cooperation with Ukraine.
Rubio has expressed his hope that the pause in assistance can be “resolved” and stated that the upcoming negotiations on Tuesday “would be key to that”.
