A woman with enviably radiant skin has revealed that just one dietary addition could transform your complexion.

In the quest for a luminous glow and to combat fine lines, many are on the hunt for the ultimate skincare solution. While countless individuals experiment with an array of products to achieve that perfect radiance, it’s important to remember that not all products suit every skin type.

Tammy Weatherhead, who has gained widespread attention for her straightforward skincare advice and maintaining her youthful looks past 40, swears by retinol. Although retinol creams and serums are popular, Tammy’s revelation that she sources her retinol from her diet has captivated over seven million viewers on TikTok.

Retinol is renowned for its skin-enhancing properties, including wrinkle reduction, pore unclogging, and skin tone balancing. As a vitamin A derivative, it accelerates skin cell renewal, leading to clearer skin.

Harvard Health Publishing acknowledges its role in diminishing fine lines and boosting collagen production. Boots confirms the efficacy of retinol, stating: “It [retinol] really is an all-rounder that works by increasing the rate of skin cell turnover and promoting the production of collagen. Because of this, retinol helps exfoliate the skin and unclog pores whilst improving the look of fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone and pigmentation. Trust us, the hype is real!”

Some may be wary of starting retinol due to fear of the ‘retinol reaction’, where initial use can lead to dry skin, redness, and irritation. Harvard Health Publishing advises: “Because retinoids can cause skin dryness and irritation, doctors often recommend using them only every other day at first and then gradually working up to nightly applications.

“Wear a sunscreen during the day because retinoids increase the skin’s sensitivity to sunlight. These drugs must be used continually to maintain their benefits.”

Tammy, 44, claims she has discovered “the best way” to consume retinol in her diet. The viral woman, who is often mistaken for being in her 30s, prepares five carrots by slicing them into “ribbons” with a peeler. Rich in beta-carotene, these ribbons are transformed by our body into retinol.

After prepping the carrot ribbons, Tammy throws them in a bowl. Injecting some zest into the meal, she finely chops a serrano pepper, which is known to bolster the immune system.

She doesn’t stop there; Tammy also cuts three garlic cloves, not just for taste but for their purported health advantages like reducing blood pressure and lessening heart disease risk.

Once ready, Tammy blends her peppers and garlic with the carrot ribbons, dressing the mix with one teaspoon of rice vinegar, two teaspoons of soy sauce, a duo of tablespoons of sesame oil, a dash of plain vinegar, a squeeze of lime and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.

She shared: “And just give it a quick toss and let it chill for about 20 minutes before you serve it, and trust me it it so good. You’re going to be addicted.” She mentioned that her recipe “keeps really well in the fridge”, making it an excellent accompaniment to various meals.

She received numerous comments praising the recipe: “I love putting honey cayenne sauce on them,” one suggested. A fan of the dish said: “I’ve been making ribbon carrot salad for my picky eater daughter for years! It’s so good!”.

“Omg, now I want some,” another one chimed in. Someone who immediately tried the recipe shared: “The way I pounced on this recipe. It was SO GOOD! ! Thank you.”

Meanwhile, another individual, impressed by Tammy’s youthful appearance, remarked: “YOU’RE 44? Yes, I’m listening to whatever you say.” “I will do whatever you say – girl look at your skin,” another commenter concurred, captivated by her glowing complexion.
