MLA Timothy Gaston hosts European Day for Victims of Terrorism event, at Stormont.

The event has been held every year since the Madrid Bombings in 2004, and victims of Loyalist and Republication terrorism from across Northern Ireland attended the event, in the Senate Chamber.

Anne Hill from Newtonwards and Karen Moreland from east Belfast, lost their sister Linda Boyle, she was killed in the Bayardo Bar attack in 1975 – an IRA attack on the Shankill pub, led by Brendan ‘Bik’ McFarlane.

McFarlane died in February this year. Siblings Anne and Karen said their sister’s murder has “ruined our whole family” and they attended today’s event to keep the memory of Linda alive.
