Who Wants To Be A Millionaire returned to ITV on Sunday night with host Jeremy Clarkson at the helm.
The popular quiz show welcomed a handful of contestants to the hot-seat, including GP Neel Clements who was hoping to win a large sum of money.
However, eagle-eyed viewers were left baffled after spotting a glaring error during the programme.
The mistake occurred during a question about Henry VIII’s wives, which quickly caught the attention of fans watching at home.

Neel was presented with a question about Henry VIII’s wives that read: “Which of King Henry VIII’s wives did he marry last, making her the one who ‘survived,’ according to the well-known rhyme?”
The options included Catherine Parr, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard, and Catherine of Aragon.
However, viewers quickly noticed that all three Catherines were spelled with a K rather than the traditional C spelling when the options appeared on-screen.
The spelling inconsistency stood out to many fans who claimed that the spelling used on the ITV quiz show wasn’t factual.

Flocking to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, several viewers shared their confusion about the spelling error.
One viewer questioned: “Since when was Catherine of Aragon, Catherine Howard and Catherine Parr spelt with a ‘K’ as Katherine?”
Another remarked: “I thought it was Catherine with a C not a K for Aragon (the first wife).”
“I always thought they were Catherine’s rather than Katherine,” commented a third viewer.
One fan simply asked: “Why have they spelt Catherine wrong?”
Another directly challenged the show by asking on the official Who Wants To Be A Millionaire page: “Why did you spell all the Catherine’s wrong?”
Despite the spelling controversy, Neel correctly identified Catherine Parr as the answer to the question with the help of the studio audience.
However, while fans were conflicted about the correct spelling, it seems to be a regular occurrence in popular discourse.
According to the History Channel, Henry VIII’s wives’ monikers did all begin with the letter C.
However, the Historic Royal Palaces’ website only sites Catherine Howard as beginning with a C out of the options posed by Clarkson.
While the spelling controversy had fans talking, Neel’s performance also sparked discussion as he rather disappointingly went home with just £1,000.
Neel incorrectly answered his £7,000 question after receiving wrong advice from his phone-a-friend lifeline.
It’s not the right answer, because Catherine Parr is spelt with a C.🤦♂️#whowantstobeamillionaire

It’s not the first time a WWTBAM contestant’s performance has sparked debate among viewers at home during the latest series.
During a celebrity edition of the long-running quiz show, Dame Laura Kenny was criticised for failing to answer – what viewers deemed to be – “stupidly easy” questions.
