Galgorm Collection has announced the first stage of a £20m investment at its Roe Valley Resort in Limavady.
It said the £5m spend — in two phases — would make it “the ultimate escape for families”, with new features aimed at younger guests including a giant helter-skelter, soft play area, kids’ park, arcade and pool slides.
The attractions, to be launched in June, will be open to visitors as well as hotel guests.
It marks a departure for the group’s locations, such as Galgorm Resort & Spa and The Old Inn in Crawfordsburn, which focus on spa offerings to adults.
Also in June the company will open family-friendly Italian-style restaurant Fratelli at Roe Valley.

In the second phase of this year’s investment, it will unveil a “stunning new bar” and adult-only spa in time for Christmas.
Improvements to the resort’s 18-hole golf course are also planned.
Galgorm Collection announced the £28m acquisition of Roe Valley Resort and Galgorm Castle Estate in November. It said a multi-million-pound investment programme in the next five years would bring both locations to new heights.
Colin Johnston, managing director of Galgorm Collection, said Roe Valley Resort had been known for its “stunning setting, warm hospitality and exceptional golf and spa experiences”.
“This investment allows us to build on that legacy, enhancing the resort’s unique charm while introducing exciting new features that will appeal to loyal guests, the local community and new visitors alike,” he added.
“Our vision is to elevate Roe Valley Resort as one of Northern Ireland’s most sought-after destinations.”
