Police have launched an arson investigation after two vehicles were ‘significantly damaged’ by fire. The incident happened just before 9pm on Tuesday, February 18 in the Cadbury Heath are of South Gloucestershire.
Police officers and firefighters attended the incident in Bickford Close where a man is believed to have set a car alight. Upon arrival fire crews discovered the fire had spread to the van, resulting in both vehicles being severely damaged.
The fire was extinguished by the fire service, which deemed it to be deliberate, and a police investigation was launched. Avon and Somerset Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward and asking anyone who saw the man that night, or knows who he is, to get in touch.
The man, who was wearing a puffer coat and a balaclava, is believed to have left the area via Craven Way.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “Officers have conducted house-to-house and CCTV enquiries and are now appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard something at that time or who has any CCTV or dashcam footage that might help our investigation to contact us.
