Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden asked her Heart Breakfast listeners whether it was ‘appropriate’ to invite an unlikely guest to have a bath with her recently.
Explaining how she settled down for a relaxing soak after enjoying a pub lunch, Amanda revealed that she made the rather peculiar decision to take the opportunity to wash one of her pets at the same time. She said: “I looked at Minnie the Moocher and put her in with me, because I need to wash her anyway because she’s covered in sand.”
Proceeding to tell listeners exactly how the situation unfolded, she added: “So, I took her collar off and we had a little bath together. I used all her doggy shampoos, there was no products in the bath, so please don’t write in.”

She continued: “Mini was loving it, she was living her best life, and then I had the dog conditioner and I got a brush and I started brushing her, because she’s got a little (bit) matted underneath her armpits, so I gave her a good brush, a good clean.”
After telling listeners of her weekend activities, co-host Jamie Theakston put the question to the public, asking: “Is it ever okay or is it a problem to bathe with your pets?” Laughing, Amanda added: “I don’t want complaints.”
Meanwhile, away from her anecdote this morning, she was left in tears last weekend when she was taken aback by an 11-year-old guitarist during Britain’s Got Talent auditions. Left astounded by his renditions of Van Halen’s Jump and Queen’s 1979 hit Don’t Stop Me Now, she slammed the golden buzzer as she exclaimed: “Oh my god.”
Appearing on the hit ITV show from its very first series back in 2007 and remaining on the judges panel ever since, it was years before that her career took off after featuring in the likes of Wild At Heart and We Know Where You Live.
Since then however, she has ventured into presenting, guest-hosting the likes of Lorraine and This Morning, before landing a role hosting Heart Breakfast.
