A pottery cafe is opening its doors in Stokes Croft in May. Terra Cafe will be the sister site to Terra Studio, which is based on Picton Lane in Montpelier.
The new cafe, which is set to open on May 6, will stock locally made ceramics and creations from the studio, as well as coffee, cake and savoury items. On its website, Terra Cafe says: “We provide handbuilding pottery experiences for all ages and abilities and teach ‘on the wheel’ throwing lessons.
“We sell locally made ceramics and other creations which are alongside our lovely cafe where you will be able to have a delicious coffee, cake and savoury bits. We are a creative, accessible space within the heart of Stokes Croft, inviting all to come in and enjoy a new pottery experience.
“Come join us for a coffee and pastry! We will have a selection of wonderful sweet and savoury pastries and cakes, with many vegan and gluten free options made by The Forest Bakery and Edgie Eats. Our delicious hot and cold coffees will be made using local Bristol Radical Roasters Coffee and our organic teas by Hampstead Tea & Coffee Company.
“We are also serving a lovely lunchtime dish of Iberian Tortilla made by the delightful RETORTilla if you’d like something more hearty! Gluten free with a vegan option available.” Food is even served up on their own Terra Cafe plates.
The cafe team have been busy sharing videos of its renovation works to social media. And they also posted an advert for staff to the Terra Cafe Instagram profile on Monday (March 3). The advert details how they are looking for two part time pottery hosts/baristas to work 24 hours per week as part of an alternating shift pattern.
The job role includes perks like the free use of pottery wheels on Mondays and evenings, free use of reclaim clay, and more.
Taking to the comments, fans and locals were quick to share their excitement at the news. One said: “This is so exciting!” While a second said: “Finally!”
