A passenger said she “didn’t know what to do” when she arrived at St Pancras International station this morning to find that her train had been cancelled after a bomb was discovered.
Eurostar has suspended services between London and Paris following the discovery of an unexploded Second World War bomb near tracks in the French capital.
The disruption has affected thousands of passengers with at least 10 services cancelled on Friday morning.
One passenger told GB News: “We heard something in French, actually, but we thought it’s not our train, so it couldn’t be.

“But then when we arrive at the Eurostar, it was really, really packed and everyone was there. And then we saw the screen when the our train was actually cancelled as well.
“We didn’t know what to do. And then we started looking around and we went and ask for us for help.

“They told us they don’t know but they found a bomb in Paris on the tracks. They don’t know when the next train will be available.”
She added: “It is our sister’s birthday, so we were just going to meet there in Paris.
“She’s coming from Brussels and we were supposed to come from London.”
The disruption comes during a busy travel period, with many travellers planning weekend trips between the two capital cities.
Eurostar announced the cancellation of 10 services on Friday morning, causing significant disruption to travel plans.
The rail operator issued a statement saying: “Due to an object on the tracks near Paris Gare du Nord, we are expecting disruption to our services this morning.”
Passengers were advised to change their journey for a different date of travel.
No trains between Paris and London will run for the rest of the day.

France’s national train operator SNCF confirmed that services at Gare du Nord would be suspended at the request of the police.
SNCF further advised: “We invite travellers to postpone their trip.”
While the Paris route faced severe disruption, Eurostar services to and from Brussels appeared to be unaffected by the incident.
Eurostar urged passengers to make alternative arrangements as the situation unfolded.
“Please change your journey for a different date of travel,” the company advised in its statement.
