The Montreal Canadiens look to extend their season-high winning streak to six against the Edmonton Oilers on trade deadline eve Thursday at Rogers Place.

East coasters: note the later start time of 9 p.m. (TSN2, RDS, TSN Radio 690, 98.5 FM, or SNW for viewers in Alberta and Saskatchewan).

Jake Evans, fresh from signing a four-year extension with the club, will suit up for the Habs.

Entering the day, the Habs sat two points out of the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference.

With the trade deadline looming, teams are opting to sit players who may be on the move to protect them from injury. Montreal isn’t expected to do that tonight.
