Chilling dashcam footage shows a man brandishing a large knife in Bristol – seconds after he used the weapon to fatally wound his victim. Jegir Asaad, 24, got into an altercation with Tomasz Stankiewicz, 39, in the early hours of the morning on August 21, 2024. Mr Stankiewicz was picking up two women from Asaad’s home on Filton Avenue, Horfield, when Asaad attacked him with a knife.
A taxi travelling behind Mr Stankiewicz’s car captured dashcam footage of Asaad and another man yelling at their victim as he got into his vehicle at 2.45am and drove away. Asaad could be seen holding a large knife, while the other man appeared to be brandishing some kind of wrench, which he used to hit the back of Mr Stankiewicz’s car as he drove off.
Mr Stankiewicz only managed to travel a short distance from the scene, before he then had to stop due to his injuries. He died a short time after in hospital.

Asaad was yesterday (March 6) jailed for life at Bristol Crown Court for the murder of Mr Stankiewicz, following a two-week trial. He must serve at least 23 years in prison before he can be considered for parole. The other man seen in the footage, aged 29, was found not guilty of murder.
At Asaad’s sentencing, an emotional statement was read from Mr Stankiewicz’s mother, describing the “horrible pain” the family has experienced since his death. You can read more about this here.
