A York Regional Police officer is facing more criminal charges after being hit with 26 charges in January.
According to the York Regional Police Professional Standards Bureau, Const. Guangnan (Garry) Sun was arrested and charged on Jan. 15 with 23 counts of unauthorized use of computer, two counts of a breach of trust by public officer, and one count of obstructing justice.
Following his arrest, Sun was released from custody on an undertaking with conditions. Police now allege he has contravened the conditions of his release.
On Wednesday, Sun was arrested again and charged with two counts of fail to comply with undertaking.
After a bail hearing in Newmarket court Wednesday, he was again released from custody with additional conditions.
