Celebrity chef Tom Kerridge has confessed that he frequently clashes with his son due to their striking similarities, a trait that often exasperates his wife Beth Cullen-Kerridge.
Tom, 51, shares son Acey, eight, with wife Beth Cullen-Kerridge. And on the Rugby Lives podcast, Tom revealed the youngster shares a lot of personality traits together.
The pair both love rugby – although Tom admits they support different teams – with Acey already eyeing up a career in sport. And while the pair are alike, Tom says this can lead to tension at home, reports Gloucestershire Live.

When questioned about whether Acey takes after him, Tom responded: “Yeah, in a lot of ways, he does massively and it drives my wife nuts because sometimes just like, two of us. And we do fall out quite a lot because we argue about the same thing and it’s almost like having an argument with yourself and then afterwards we both laugh about it.”
Besides his love for rugby, Acey has also begun to show a keen interest in food and often inquires about his father’s restaurants, even dabbling in cooking at home. Tom elaborated, “He’s got an interest in food, he’s got an interest in the restaurants and the way that they work a little bit, he asks questions about them.

“He likes the cooking part of it, he does quite a bit at home, which he likes very much. But in his head, right now, as an eight year old he’s going to be a professional rugby player.”
Acey’s aspirations are clear, with Tom noting that his son has already set his sights on playing for Harlequins. “He’s just like ‘all of this is amazing, however, when I play for Harlequins’, that is in his head.”
Tom says Acey’s favourite rugby player is England and Harlequins prop Joe Marler. He says the 34-year-old is his “absolute hero” and has inspired his mohawk haircut.
Tom has previously described Acey as a “giant”, revealing the schoolboy can deadlift 75kg. Speaking to Goodhousekeeping Live, Tom said: “He’s nearly nine, and he is a giant. In his head, he is going to be a professional rugby player.
“He deadlifts 75kg. He got a better technique than me.”
Tom, who grew up in Gloucester, has appeared on TV shows such as the Great British Menu, Masterchef and Saturday Kitchen as well as fronting several food programmes. He also runs a string of successful restaurants including The Hand and Flowers in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, which has two Michelin stars.
