Married at First Sight Australia has officially returned, promising a season that’s bigger and better than ever before.
The 12th series of the popular reality show kicked off on E4 on Monday (March 3), with a new batch of hopeful singles entering the experiment in search of their perfect match.
In just three episodes, viewers have already witnessed a couple reuniting at the altar after previously dating eight months prior. Additionally, one groom packed his bags during the honeymoon when his bride failed to meet his long list of “non-negotiables”.
But that’s not all – another bride was left disappointed when she discovered her new husband didn’t feel an “initial spark” towards her, leading him to avoid her throughout their wedding reception.
It’s been quite the ride so far, but it’s set to become even more dramatic, if the season’s trailer is anything to go by, reports OK!

The teaser clip, aired at the end of the first episode, started on a high note, with one bride confessing: “We feel like we’ve known each other for a lifetime.”
However, the honeymoon period doesn’t last, as the trailer quickly cuts to a montage of tearful cast members.
“I’m here because I wanted a bloody Cam [Merchant] and Jules [Robinson] kind of love,” one emotional newlywed confessed.
The group dynamics also heat up, with several tense dinner parties pushing some couples to their limits. The MAFS experts were left aghast, as John Aiken admits: “We’ve seen a lot of dinner parties over the years. This is outrageous.”
It’s not only the dinner parties that stir up turmoil; the commitment ceremonies are equally wild. Mel Schilling fiercely calls out inappropriate actions, asserting, “This is inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour. That is a non-negotiable.”

Frustration boils over when a bride storms out, declaring: “Did you really think I was gonna give him the last word?”
The tumultuous moment culminates in John Aiken confoundedly stating, “It’s game over… I don’t think we’ve ever had that before.”
Fans have gone bonkers on social media after the teaser, with one enthusiast commenting: “That’s all to come up in the series this is going to be interesting.”
“Can already feel this will be one of the best seasons of #MAFSAU yet,” another predicts, while someone else proclaims, “Oh wow the new series of #MAFSAU is going to be fantastic drama overload.”
Chiming in similarly, another fan anticipates: “This season looks good. Australia reigns supreme in the MAFS universe lol.”

Some viewers call for firm handling of the drama: “This drama is going to be outrageous this season. I just hope that people are held to account.”
The show’s producers have previously hinted that this season will be “the most explosive series yet”, featuring moments that are unprecedented in the show’s history.
In addition, a fresh twist named Final Test Week will be introduced to the experiment, posing the ultimate challenge to the couples as they grapple with the age-old question: “Is the grass greener on the other side?”
Channel Nine has previously stated: “With the unpredictable dinner parties and emotionally charged commitment ceremonies, prepare for laughter, tears and a whole lot of drama, as this season surprises with shock twists and turns.”
