Jet2 passengers were forced to restrain a disruptive man who began shouting about “the Lord Jesus” during a flight from Belfast to Fuerteventura, viral footage has revealed.
The chaotic incident, which took place on March 1, lasted for an hour, according to footage later shared on TikTok.
The video shows a seemingly intoxicated passenger screeching loudly from his seat as two men stood over him attempting to calm the situation.
Children were reportedly seated near the man during his outburst, which has sparked debate about alcohol consumption on flights.

Flight attendants stepped in as the man began shouting almost unintelligibly, with one passenger reminding him he was “on a plane” while trying to calm him down.
The person who filmed the incident condemned what they described as “drunken behaviour” in front of children.
In the footage, passengers can be seen helping to hold the man down during his prolonged outburst.
The TikTok user who shared the video suggested the passenger had drunk himself “to oblivion” while praising staff for their response.
Many commenters suggested the disruptive passenger should be “banned from flying” following the incident.

Text overlaid on the video described the incident as “disgraceful” and noted: “This is not the half of it. These crew members went above and beyond to deal with this and these guys held him down.”
Adding further context, the caption added: “Belfast to Fuerteventura Jet2 flight. This is what happens when people drink themselves to oblivion. These crew members were outstanding.”
The footage was posted two days after the March 1 incident.
Hundreds of people commented on the video, with one passenger saying it was “hard enough flying without this happening”.

Another commenter added: “So frightening for all other passengers and crew.”
The incident sparked debate in the comments section about alcohol on flights, with many calling for outright bans.
Some commenters described the behaviour as “scary” and “terrifying”, suggesting the passenger be added to a no-fly list.
However, others pushed back against alcohol restrictions.
“Everyone saying alcohol should be banned,” one commentator wrote. “No you just need to grow up and be responsible for yourself and your own actions. Why should everyone get punished because you can’t handle your own addictions.”
Another added: “Absolutely awful to see this happen so often but I don’t think banning alcohol is the only solution. Maybe limit purchases – why should people who can be responsible be penalised for the minority.”
