Crisp fans were seen queuing eagerly to snag a packet of the much-missed Worcester Sauce flavour crisps, which have made a comeback for the first time since their discontinuation by Walkers in 2023.
The relaunch sparked joy among shoppers who were thrilled to find that the crisps, seasoned with the genuine Worcestershire Sauce from the renowned Lea and Perrins, had returned to the shelves for a brief period.
The line stretched outside Charlie’s Convenience Store on Barbourne Road, in the historic Cathedral city of Worcester—the sole retailer currently offering the sought-after snack.
The store is run by 31 year old Gubir Singh, known fondly as Gav to the local community, whose family has been at the helm since 2019.

On the topic of the relaunch, Gav shared his excitement: “I was honoured to be asked to help relaunch the Worcester Sauce flavour crisps. I’m playing a pivotal moment in the city’s history – I’d just encourage people to pay us a visit while stocks last.”
In a grand gesture to mark the return of the beloved Worcester Sauce flavour crisps by Walkers, an impressive six-metre inflatable replica of the iconic purple crisp packet was paraded down the River Severn atop a barge.
Some ardent Worcester Sauce fans even travelled from as far as Glasgow to sample the initial batches straight from the production line, while four superfans had the privilege of being among the first to get their hands on a bag.

Kent resident and superfan, Katie Barnes, expressed her excitement saying: “Today’s my 28th birthday and what better way to celebrate. I’ve been waiting years for this moment.”
She continued, “I used to constantly go on about the Worcester Sauce flavour. I took a day off work and travelled over 150 miles to secure the goods – it’s the best birthday present ever.”
Irina Panescu from Walkers also commented: “We’re bringing back our iconic Worcester Sauce flavoured crisps, and this time they’re even more Worcestershire-y with the help from our friends at Lea and Perrins.”
She added, “We’re sorry to disappoint fans but it’s only right that our limited supply is reserved for the people of Worcester. We’ve been floored by the reception from the locals as we painted the town purple.”
