The Chase’s Bradley Walsh admitted that he felt ‘gutted’ for one contestant after suffering a huge loss. During Tuesday’s (March 4) episode of the ITV hit game show, host Bradley, 64, returned to our TV screens with four hopeful contestants aiming for a substantial cash win.
The team, Ben from London, Jolene from County Durham, Alfie from Essex and Maria from Letchworth, faced off against Jenny Ryan, also known as The Vixen, in a battle of wits.
However it was one moment that had everyone talking as player Maria decided to go all out and took on the high offer of 64k. At first Bradley looked shocked at her brave move however as the game went on he quickly noticed that Maria was a strong player.

She successfully managed to answer the majority of the questions correctly and made it to the end with just one question left until she could walk away with the cash to add to the prize pot.
Despite giving it her all, Maria was visibly emotional as she failed to outsmart the chaser and was knocked out of the game.
Bradley was also upset for the player as he said: “I’m gutted. I’m so sorry to lose you because you’ve been a very good player.”
Viewers watching at home couldn’t help but rush straight to social media to share their reaction as one said: “So close Maria could only have been in pain, but she panicked unfortunately. #TheChase.”
Another wrote on X, formally known as Twitter: “One of the most mental answers ever. #TheChase.” A third added: “The chaser was trying to help her, but to be honest, she was useless. Love???????#thechase.”
