Princess Kate and Prince William’s first meeting with a “barefoot” Meghan Markle could help explain her latest Netflix decision.
In 2022, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released their highly anticipated docuseries “Harry & Meghan”, where the couple divulged details about life in the Royal Family.
Meghan, 43, revealed details from her first encounter with the Prince and Princess of Wales and her state of attire.
The Duchess said: “Even when Will and Kate came over and I had met her for the first time, they came over for the first time, I remember I was in ripped jeans and I was barefoot.

“I was a hugger, always been a hugger. I didn’t realise that that is really jarring for a lot of Brits.”
She added: “I guess I started to understand very quickly that the formality on the outside carried through on the inside.
“That there is a forward-facing way of being. And then you close the door, and you’re like, ‘Oh, great. Okay, we can relax now.’
“But that formality carries over on both sides. And that was surprising to me.”

Meghan, who grew up in Los Angeles, appears to prefer the rugged, relaxed Californian lifestyle, especially being barefoot in the kitchen.
In her latest Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan,” the mother-of-two was constantly barefoot while cooking for her friends in the kitchen.
Many Sussex fans came to the former working royal’s defence, writing on social media: “Meghan knows how to make people feel comfortable, barefoot and all. Naturally.”
Another wrote: “Kate was offended because when she met Meghan for the first time, Meghan was wearing jeans and was barefoot – AT HOME.”

However, some royal watchers disapproved of her being barefoot in the kitchen.
One commented: “I don’t know how I got to my age without Meghan Markle telling me how to make an omelette or balloons or a cake and rainbow fruit while walking about barefoot with hot pans.
“The Wales family must be laughing hysterically.”
Another wrote: “First they tried to sell her as some glamorous movie star, now they are trying to sell her as some ‘barefoot foraging California Yuppie’.”
