Joe Swash has revealed that his attempts to help with home improvements can lead to more trouble, especially after a significant DIY blunder at his family residence.
The 43-year-old actor, famed for playing Mickey Miller on EastEnders, shares a life with ex-Loose Women panelist Stacey Solomon. The couple, who have six children between them, reside in the impressive £1.2million abode affectionately dubbed Pickle Cottage.
Despite his enthusiasm, Joe has faced some challenges with DIY projects at home. He now prefers to “stay away from things” following a particularly notable mishap.
Sharing the tale, Joe recounted how Stacey, who presents BBC’s Sort Your Life Out, had contemplated merging the children’s bedrooms into one by knocking down a wall. However, he was unaware that she had reconsidered the idea.

Speaking to the Times, Joe said: “I’ve tried my hand at DIY, but I just make things worse. Stacey said she wanted to knock the kids’ bedrooms through into one. Then she changed her mind, but I didn’t hear her. When she got back from work, I’d knocked the whole wall down.”
He continued: “It had to be put back to the way it was in the first place, so I tend to stay away from things. In my life, generally, I try my hardest to make everyone happy, but I end up pleasing very few people.”
In other news, earlier this month reports surfaced that Stacey and Joe, parents to Harry, Zachary, Leighton, Rex, Rose, and Belle, sometimes enjoy spending their evenings together in quiet companionship.
In a recent interview with Grazia, Stacey Solomon shared her thoughts on the pressure people often put on themselves to incorporate self-care into their daily routines, stating that it’s “just not possible” at times.

She expressed: “I think we all put ourselves under a lot of pressure to be like, ‘Don’t forget you!’ and ‘Don’t forget to fit your self-care in or you’re going to go down the drain.’ Sometimes in life, it’s just not possible.”
The popular TV star advised people to “go with the flow.” She also revealed some of the activities she and her family enjoy during their leisure time, which could involve a game of cards.
When it comes to self-care, she and Joe sometimes like to switch off by watching some “mind-numbing TV.” However, as they do this, they may “not talk to each other.”
She further admitted that she rarely has the luxury of a relaxing bubble bath due to her busy schedule, jokingly confessing that she’s lucky if she finds time to wash her “important bits in the shower”.
