During Tuesday’s Good Morning Britain show, host Susanna Reid took a moment to congratulate her colleague. Following the latest news update with Ed Balls, focus shifted to weather presenter Alex Beresford.

With warmth, Susanna said: “Congratulations Alex and with love…” before Alex interjected, inquiring about the precise time. Susanna noted it was 6:18am, to which Alex responded: “So, Camille was born three weeks ago today at 6:13, so this time three weeks ago, I was very much in the labour suite, having an absolutely amazing time.”

Viewers then saw a photo of Alex cradling his new arrival as he gushed over her, saying “incredible”. He continued: “It’s been so good! So, so good and I feel like I’ve got a new lease of energy.”

He shared that even at 45, he worried about what being a parent again would be like. Susanna teased that he must have thought he needed a new challenge, and Alex concurred, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Ed remarked: “Can I say Alex, it’s not normal for parents to have a new lease of energy. It’s normal for them to be exhausted. Does your partner have a new lease of energy?”

Alex laughed and then praised his partner Imogen, stating: “She’s just been incredible, hats off to her. If men were to have children, there would be no more children because what she did was absolutely incredible.

“Hats off to her, the cluster feeding as well, the breastfeeding, big respect for all of that and she’s persevered through it and it’s just been a joy to watch.”

Ed disclosed how Yvette Cooper, his wife, informed him he’d be on nappy duty for the first month—a task Alex also agreed to. He remarked: “Oh I do the lot because that’s the one thing that I can do because she’s breastfeeding all the time and she (Camille) wants to be on mummy. The one thing I can do is change nappies, so I’ve been changing every single nappy.”

Susanna light-heartedly mentioned that the new arrival must be keeping him busy, to which he spoke highly of the past three weeks.

He expressed his gratitude, saying: “I just want to actually thank The Queen Charlotte at Chelsea hospital.

“They were absolutely amazing, our midwife was incredible and big respect for the NHS for everything that they do because I just saw so many people constantly going the extra mile. So grateful.”

Camille is Alex’s first child as he welcomed his son Cruz, now 14, with former partner Natalia Natkaniec.

Good Morning Britain continues weekdays on ITV from 6am.
