The sister of Luis Piovesana has shared her family’s devastation after a body was found during the search for her brother. The 26-year-old went missing on Friday, February 28 after he was last seen on CCTV at around 3.30am at Eastgate Retail Park, sparking intense searches in Bristol across the weekend.
More than 100 police officers and staff were involved in the search to find Luis, which continued throughout the day on Monday, March 3. After a day of searching, Avon and Somerset Police confirmed a body had been found in the River Frome.
Luis sister Lubjana ‘Lulu’ Piovesana said the family were completely devastated. She continued: “He was my little brother and loved by everyone. I wish he could have seen the love from everyone.”
Dive teams discovered the body while searching the River Frome in the Napier Road area of Eastville, Avon and Somerset Police said. While formal identification has not yet taken place, detectives have met with Luis’ family and updated them. A spokesperson said: “Our thoughts remain with them during this incredibly difficult time and they continue to be supported by specialist officers.”
Posting her statement to Facebook, Lulu said: “Hello everyone. Luis has been found. We are completely devastated but he has passed away.
“I am grateful for everyone’s support and I am so sorry this has happened. Luis was my little brother and loved by everyone. I wish he could have seen the love from everyone.
“He will be remembered by us all.”
